Attached to her duplicate birth certificate is Elizabeth Higham's Labour
Certificate, School District of Bolton Union:
Certificate that Elizabeth Higham was on 27th August 1884 not less than
10 years of age & has been shown to the satisfaction of the local authority
to be benificially & necessarily employed.
Stamped by Clerk to School Attendance Committee & "One half of the attendances
at School should be made during the mornings".
Attached to his duplicate birth certificate is a Labour Certificate in accordance with the Elementary Education Act of 1876, to say that William Tector of Peter Street, Radcliffe, was on 28th Sept 1885 not less than 10 years of age, and had reached the 4th standard of education. This is signed by William Holt, Principal Teacher of St Andrews, Radcliffe, dated 21st Sept 1885. (Curiously the address on this date is Hunt Street, Radcliffe).

Could they have moved to Chatham because a Tector was in the Navy?
Pressed man? Did they leave soon after William's birth in 1819 because the Navy
work was slackening off at the end of the Napoleonic Wars?
Who were Hannah's parents? When did their family come from Ireland?
