You burn the .iso to a CD-R drive and boot up from there. It is very easy, but remember to disable AHCI in your motherboard BIOS and use IDE mode until after it is updated, then you can switch back to AHCI.
There is a LOT of good info in the OCZ forums for all SSD users.

TRIM feature works great with Windows 7 (Yes I installed this after the firmware was pulled..:P). This G2 drive will keep it's performance within 95% of a new drive without having to do any of the manual wipe tools. Make sure to have AHCI mode enabled!
